Question:
well, it's that time of the year that i like to get out the ol'
crystal ball and peer into the future...
it's becoming clearer, yes, very clear, and i see...
Colorado, Dallas, and Detroit cruising into the 2nd round of the
playoffs again this year...
and i see St. Louis and San Jose in an epic 7-game first-round
battle, with the victor gaining recognition as one of the elite
teams in the league... Nolan continues his great season, while
Vernon wages a valiant battle against the ravages of time. for the
Blues, Turek gains confidence every game, while Dmitra continues
scoring even *with* those freaking beads around his neck. Prongor
rules the area around the net, but Stuart starts showing glimpses
of his huge potential. the teams split the first 6 games, with the
7th game in Kiel. in the 3rd OT of a scoreless battle, Nolan
scores, but the goal is disallowed due to goalie interference.
then, finally, in the 5th OT, Bob Bassen digs the puck out of a
scrum in front of Vernon after a McInnis slapper, and lifts the
puck over a sprawling Vernon, breaking the scoreless duel, and the
Blues go on the face Colorado in the 2nd round, having finally
gained the respect that goes with being one of the elite teams in
the league.
