how to cut glass beads in half?

Question:
I'm looking for a way to cut my beads in half so I can set the halves into handmade sterling silver bezels. (to be cut along the length of the hole). Please advise While I'm here, I'd like to know if there is anyone out there who knows of a source for 6mm - 8mm glass cabochons. If you know of a glass artist that can help me, please let me know who to contact. I've been searching just about everywhere for these things, and I'm thinking about learning how to make beads myself to get the job done (as if I have the time! )

Thanks for any help and/or advice!

Answer:
-Use a diamond abrasive lapidary trim saw, or grind off 1/2.

-one suggestion for cutting your beads in half would be what are called mosaic pliers. Not the ones you'd cut tile with, but ones that are meant specifically to cut glass. Provided your beads aren't too big, it should work pretty well. However, if you need a perfect cut, the only way to do it is with a bandsaw. The best model I've found is the Gryphon Model C.
