Question:

From the pics, I'd love to buy a couple of these. Does anyone know anything
about mouth-blown beads? They look fragile, I don't want to buy myself some
heart-ache! Also, has anyone dealt with this vendor?
Answer:
-I've purchased Venetian beads from favabeads on eBay and
I recommend them. One of my first purchases with them I had a problem
with the beads and they cheerfully refunded my money (they don't carry
those beads anymore). Then they went on to recommend other beads they
carried that would meet my requirements and I was quite happy with
them. I've purchased from them more than a few times and I've always
been happy with their Venetian glass.
And I've also purchased a pair of blown glass Venetian orbs (from
Karen here on the group - mkhageman @earthlink.net on eBay) and they
are substantial - the glass isn't thin - and I was quite happy with
them. I made my pair into earrings rather than a neckalce - I
wouldn't recommend using them for a bracelet tho.
-These were some of the first special beads I bought years ago. I made a set
up of clear, amber and black into a woven multistrand necklace and love it.
I saw these beads made up into pendants with a Bali bead cap glued on to the
top and bottom. The caps had bails on them and nothing was running inside
the bead. They were at a gallery in NOLA for around $75 a pendant! I
haven't tried that but thought what a neat idea. I would really have to
trust my glue/epoxy. Some had a tassel on the bottom.
